I believe that my destiny has been written and I am merely reading through it bit by bit, but I also believe that I can never stop giving it my all in order to attain my goal.

My Global Health Experience
Project Medishare
2017|Central Plateau, Haiti

As a medical student, I spent a week in Haiti with a translator taking histories and physicals of local patients and making a differential diagnosis which I presented to my attending physician. I was able to provide care and support to patients and their family members as difficult news was given and rejoice with other patients as disease remittance was celebrated.

Global Brigades
2016|Coclé, Panama

As an undergraduate, I spent a week in Panama with other students setting up a clinic with a dentist, two physicians, and a mobile pharmacy. I utilized my EMT skills to triage patients, take their vitals, and then shadow physicians while they took detailed history, performed physical exams, and generated differential diagnoses and treatment plans. I spent time with patients in a “charla” or “tea time chat” to explain the risks of STDs and transmission prevention.

Volunteer in a student-run clinic that offers health care to the patrons of the Newark Community and exchanges their gracious time for healthcare offered by a board-certified family medicine attending physician and a team of medical students from each class year.

BLS Instructor
2016-2020|Various Hospitals in NJ

Provided CPR classes to the members of the Newark Community and the Universities and spread awareness about the importance of quick action in a cardiac arrest.

Bleeding Control Instructor

Assist in teaching medical students as well as police officers and other healthcare professionals about the importance of bleeding control in an emergency setting and the correct methods of stopping acute haemorrhage depending on the type of wound and learning how to correctly apply Quikclot gauze and tourniquets.

Emergency Medical Technician

As an EMT at MEMS, my responsiblities include providing Basic Life Support in accordance with New Jersey Office of Emergency Medical Services. My duties invovle responding to medical emergencies, assessing and triaging patients, and monitoring patients through transport.As a member of the community, I also provide medical support at town events.

As a junior volunteer at JFK's Stroke Unit, I was responsible for aiding the nurses by entering patient data as welll as attending to basic patient needs. As an adult volunteer at University Hospital, my responsiblities included providing care both clinically and clerically. I helped out with various tasks the doctors performed under their instruction. I assisted in transferring patients to and fro the imaging department.

As a committee member, along with other members and the director, I interview candidates to assess his or her competitiveness for medical school. I work with the committee to create letters of recommendation. I also work with candidates to review and strengthen their application.

Captain
2017-2019|Metuchen Emergency Medical Services

Lead and managed the Line officers, ensured the day to day activities of the service provided by the EMS services are of the highest service and provide optimal and personal care to Metuchen Residents. Serve as medical support when crew is need of extra help or a supervisory authority to monitor or assist with decision making.

Student Interview and Ambassador
2016-2020|Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School

Interview prospective medical students to evaluate their candidacy for medical school and assess their fit with the culture of the school selecting individuals that would succeed hollistically and serve the community. As an ambassador, I represent the school and the admissions department as I give tours of the campus and the residence hall. I participate during admissions seminars for prospective students, accepted students, and accepted parents interacting and detailing my experience.

My Research Experience
Dream Labs
2017-2020|NJIT/NJMS

Working with Dr. Vivek Kumar and Dr. Michael Curi, I researched the value of creating aortic interposition grafts with synthetic and allograph materials using a novel peptide known as “hydrogel” created by the lab.



I also researched the ability to use the rat model as an accurate model, performed surgeries on rats and transplanted allografts from dissected bovine coronary vessels.

Haspel Labs
2013-2016|New Jersey Institute of Technology

I researched Neural Network of C. elegans, imaging movement of C. elegans and used fluorescent indicators to understand active neurons.I researched cross-inhibition between GABAergic/Glutanergic motoneurons and understood their role in movement.

Barcoding Project
2012-2013|Rutgers University-Waksmans Institute

I labelled various areas of New Jersey tagging the specific species of Duckweed(Lemnoideae) by isolating different species, extracting and sequencing DNA, and performing bioinformatic analysis to determine the likely species. I also created genomic DNA libraries of Duckweed.

Waksman Student Scholars Program
2010-2013|Rutgers University-Waksmans Institute

I explored and analyzed the genomic DNA of Duckweed by transforming cDNA containing plasmids into bacteria, isolating the DNA, and then sequencing it. I published 26 DNA sequences to the NIH
